为了给学生提供更好的与外教交流的机会,提高学生的跨文化交际能力,外国语学院外籍教师为英语专业和英语二专业学生组织文化交流活动,具体内容如下:
On Saturday, September 15, 2012, the North American foreign teachers at Northeast Forestry University held a party in their office for their English students. Ben Watson, Micah Hitt, Lindsey Seader, and Steven Yue were the foreign teachers in attendance at the party. The teachers are part of English Language Institute, China (ELIC), which has been partnering with NEFU in English education since 1984. The teachers have transformed part of their office into an English lending library, with hundreds of books, and magazines that students can borrow. More than 40 students attended different classes that the foreign teachers teach, including sophomore English majors, Sophomore and Junior 2nd English Major students, and even some Forestry students who have a special oral class this semester with a foreign teacher. The students enjoyed talking in English with the foreign teachers and with each other, reading books, magazines, and other English literature that was available, and even borrowing some in order to better practice their English in their own time. The party was a complete success and the foreign teachers hope that the students will continue to come and take advantage of the lending library. It is open Monday-Thursday from 3:30-5:00. All students who currently have an English foreign teacher are welcome, as are all English major students. The teachers are happy to talk with those who come into the office, and are always ready to give advice, answer questions, or otherwise help students improve their English.(图\文Ben Watson)
